Lead Acoustics and Vibration Professional (Engineer/Scientist)

Advitech is seeking committed and enthusiastic acoustics and vibration professional (engineer or scientist) to supervise and lead Advitech’s committed team of acoustic and vibration professionals. In this role as Lead – Acoustics and Vibration, you will help our clients leverage their environmental data to make more informed decisions on noise and vibration management effort and investment. The successful candidate will have considerable consulting experience in environmental and/or built environment acoustic and vibration assessments across sectors which may include but are not limited to heavy industry, extractive industries, infrastructure, structures and built environment, utilities and renewable energy.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively coordinating and managing project scopes of work, budgets and delivery schedules
  • Managing relationships with existing clients and developing new business relationships and opportunities for growth
  • Preparing cost estimates and proposals for new opportunities
  • Implementing and promoting the company’s Integrated Management System policies and procedures
  • Playing an active role in the business leadership group through regular meetings, workshops, training and business development activities
  • Adopting continuous learning and improvement processes in all aspects of the position
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to other staff members

About You

To be successful in this role, you will meet the following essential criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, ideally in Acoustic Engineering/Science (or related discipline), with at least 8 years’ relevant industry experience in environmental and/or built environment acoustic and vibration assessment.
  • Technical competency with recent experience in undertaking acoustic modelling and preparation of acoustic assessments across a range of sectors and project scales
  • Good organisational skills and a demonstrated history of successful project management
  • Good interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively within a team, and a desire to provide mentoring and coaching to other staff members
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Current drivers licence

Acoustic and vibration professionals meeting the following desirable criteria will be considered favourably:

  • A passion for innovative solutions and service excellence
  • Previous experience or a willingness to engage with other technical streams including Air Quality Impact Assessment
  • Local, consulting experience
  • Membership of Australian Acoustical Society

About the Position

Position Type: Full Time – flexible work practices apply for this role.
Reports To: Manager – Environment
Location: Advitech office, located in the Emergent Group Headquarters, Newcastle.
