Dangerous Goods & Hazardous Chemicals

Advitech offers a ‘path to compliance’ for organisations to meet legislative requirements related to the use, storage and handling of Hazardous Chemicals, formerly known as dangerous goods and hazardous substances. This can include loading and unloading procedures, spillage control, operator training and in-process use.

Through our experience, we have developed a practical yet thorough approach to the management of hazardous chemicals.

As our client, you can be confident in our knowledge of the relevant legislation and Australian Standards, including the NSW Work Health and Safety Regulation (2011). We have completed detailed dangerous goods compliance audits and risks assessments for multiple sites, including power stations, chemical facilities, food processing and manufacturing plants. We have also faciliated risk assessments to examine problematic dangerous goods depots and assisted with design solutions to reduce risks or address non-compliance.

Advitech offers a range of services in dangerous goods and hazardous substances:

  • Compliance auditing against relevant state legislation, codes of practice, guidelines and Australian standards for all substance classes, using Advitech’s “DG Compliance Audit Template”.
  • Facilitation of risk assessments to review the safety of dangerous goods storage, handling and in-process use, utilising our Criteria® Integrated Risk Management methodology.
  • Advice and recommendation of actions to improve safety and compliance with relevant legislation, by our experienced process engineers and accredited dangerous goods consultant.
  • Hazardous Areas zone identification and classification.
  • WorkCover notifications, forms and site drawings.
