Environmental Management and Regulatory Compliance

Advitech is experienced in assisting organisations with environmental management and regulatory compliance.

We can provide advice on compliance management, environment protection licensing, and the assessment and management of environmental risk.

We have prepared environment protection licence applications for many clients, including licence amendments and negotiation with regulatory authorities, e.g. the NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC).

Completed projects include:

  • Preparation of an Environment Protection Licence variation for a concrete batch plant, and subsequent negotiations with DECC to vary the monitoring requirements imposed by the site's development consent.
  • Assistance with waste management and classification of spent bleaching earth for a food manufacturer in accordance with waste management provisions of the POEO Act, 1997.
  • Preparation of an Environment Protection Licence application for chemical storage and waste disposal.
  • Preparation of an Environment Protection Licence application for quarry operations and subsequent negotiations with DECC to obtain appropriate licence conditions.
  • Environmental audit for a large beverage company including assessment and reporting of environmental and/or management issues, and a preliminary technical evaluation of opportunities for improved environmental performance
  • Advice regarding ongoing environmental management of steelworks, entailing both engineering and environmental expertise on waste management, air pollution, wastewater management, and process improvement.
  • Assistance with identifying, developing and implementing system elements and procedures for a coal mine's Environmental Management System.
  • Environmental audits and compliance assessments of a mining operator's sites, for corporate governance and due diligence.
