Representative Projects

• Structural assessment of an existing mine vehicle maintenance workshop to determine its adequacy to support increased crane loading. The assessment included three dimensional modelling and analysis of the building structure under moving loads, the estimation of the fatigue life of the structure and the finite element analysis of the box section crane rails.
• Three dimensional modelling and analysis of an existing steel framed wire production building to determine its suitability to support additional loading from Hushclad sound cladding.
• Structural audits of coal loading and preparation plants, steel mills, and port facilities. Involved recording the structural condition of each asset, rating structural condition using a risk based approach and recommending actions.
• Preliminary structural design, building layout and site layouts for a spare parts storage facility for a major coal handling facility. The feasibility assessment included internal layout design, vehicle swept path analysis and budget cost estimation.
• Preliminary structural design and feasibility assessment of a coal preparation plant flotation and dewatering process building. Involved assessment of support methods for four 75 tonne flotation tanks and the feasibility of installing a 63 tonne disc filter on the upper floor of an existing building.
• Structural design, engineering and detail drafting for structural modifications to an existing coal washery related to the replacement of two vibrating screens, including natural frequency and vibration analysis.
• Structural analysis, design and drafting relating to the upgrade of process ventilation for a coal briquette plant.
• Design of pavement and drainage of a 300m section of colliery haul road, involving vertical and horizontal design alignment. The design included soil and water management and catchment plans to comply with council requirements for sediment and erosion.
• Designed a 360m truck dispatch route through existing site plant. The road upgrade assessed pavement, alignment and draining issues, considered B-Double swept path and was integrated into existing infrastructure.
