$50 Energy Assessments for Small Business
Have you assessed your energy usage? Would you like to reduce your energy costs? Are you interested in accessing 50% rebates on the installation of energy efficient equipment? Advitech can provide an energy efficiency assessment for only $50, through the NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change’s (DECC) new Energy Efficiency for Small Business (EESB) Program. The program offers small businesses heavily subsidised energy assessments and 50% equipment rebates.
Why Should I Join?
- Reduce your electricity usage (costs have recently increased by 20% to 30% and could increase by a similar amount over the next two years)
- Reduce your carbon footprint
- Get access to 50% rebates on equipment installations with a value of up to $5,000
- At a minimum cost of only $50, this is an extremely good value energy assessment
- The 50% equipment cost subsidy could be in addition to the federal government 50% tax deduction incentives for small business
- Replacing that old inefficient compressor, cool room, oven, air conditioner or hot water system could prove very cost effective
Does My Organisation Qualify?
Your company qualifies if it has an ABN and EITHER:
- Spends less than approximately $20,000 p.a. on electricity; OR
- Employs 10 people or less.
How Do I Register for the Program?
Simply complete the registration form and return it to either Advitech or the DECC.
Why Register with Advitech?
- If you register through Advitech, we will conduct the assessment and ensure the Action Plan report is completed promptly and professionally.
- The Action Plan report will summarise where your electricity is currently being used and the opportunities that exist to reduce costs – including budget annual savings, installation costs of new equipment and payback periods.
- Advitech has 21 years of experience in energy assessments for businesses, ranging in size from small to very large.
- Advitech can assist you to arrange for equipment upgrade quotations and installations.
DECC Program Summary
Often, small changes make a big difference. Making better use of natural light or increasing your air conditioning thermostat by one degree in summer can make a big improvement to the cost of your power bills over a year, and reduce carbon pollution in the process.
Over the long term, significant energy and financial savings can be achieved by operating existing equipment more efficiently or replacing outdated equipment. For example, switching to compact fluorescent lighting can cut electricity use by up to 75 per cent, and replacing air conditioners that are more than 10 years old can reduce your energy costs for heating and cooling by up to 40 per cent.
The Energy Efficiency for Small Business program offers an energy assessment, a tailored action plan and a rebate of up to $5,000 for making energy efficiency improvements. This program can save you money and reduce our impact on the environment.
After your onsite energy assessment, you will receive an Action Plan to help you save electricity by improving the efficiency of existing equipment or installing new equipment that is more energy efficient. Return on investment timeframes are included in the plan for each action identified.
A rebate of up to $5,000 is available to pay for half of your costs to implement action plan recommendations that have a return on investment period of more than two years. Rebates will be paid for improvements to lighting (including skylights); heating, ventilation and air conditioning; boilers; air compressors; commercial refrigeration; electric motors and insulation.
You can take part if your business spends up to about $20,000 a year on electricity or employs up to about 10 people.
Alternatively, if you are a medium to large business, you can register for the DECC’s Sustainability Advantage Energy Saver program to help you become more energy efficient.
